Fujitsu, Oracle launch enhanced SPARC Enterprise M3000 server

For enterprise applications such as business intelligence, database and business processing

Fujitsu and Oracle have launched an enhanced SPARC Enterprise M3000 server with new SPARC64 VII+ processor.

The new offering is suitable for an array of enterprise applications including: business intelligence, database, and business processing, said the company.

The SPARC Enterprise M3000 server provides increased performance and I/O throughput, improved manageability with Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center, investment protection for mission-critical computing, and helps customers to boost the efficiency of their enterprise systems.

Fujitsu corporate senior vice-president Noriyuki Toyoki said the new SPARC Enterprise M3000 was developed on Fujitsu's mission-critical computing technology in partnership with Oracle, and delivers significantly increased performance and lower TCO with superior energy efficiency.

Toyoki said, "Fujitsu continues to work closely with Oracle to develop products which enable customers to maximize their ROI and protect their ICT investments."

Oracle executive vice-president John Fowler said, "The SPARC Enterprise M-series line with Oracle Solaris provides a high-performance foundation for mission-critical computing with unmatched investment protection."
